Biography

Meet Kayla
Psychotherapist and Social Worker
I am a licensed psychotherapist and social worker committed to offering trauma-informed care to adolescents, young adults, and families impacted by intergenerational trauma. My practice is deeply rooted in compassion, creativity, and the belief that transformation is possible for everyone.
I was born in Woodbridge, Virginia, and raised in the metro Atlanta area in Georgia. My closest family is in Albany, and I visit them often, which keeps me connected to my roots and makes me a country girl at heart. From a young age, I’ve been intrigued by the complexities of the human mind—how it shapes behavior and influences the choices that define one’s life path. I’ve also always felt a strong desire to serve others in meaningful ways within communities. These passions inspired me to obtain a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Georgia State University, followed by a Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University. These academic foundations, combined with years of clinical experience, empower me to create spaces for transformation and healing.
I have supported clients navigate life as they face the plight of anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal conflicts. My therapeutic style emphasizes depth, self-awareness, and empowerment, blending evidence-based practices with a creative approach. I believe that growth often begins when we explore and challenge the stories we tell ourselves, paving the way for transformation.
I empower clients to build harmonious relationships with themselves and others through insight, self-compassion, and confidence. By encouraging the exploration of identity and purpose, I help them embrace authenticity and step into their power. Incorporating creative expression, such as artistic methods and reflective exercises, it allows clients to access deeper emotions, gain new perspectives, and uncover inner strength, offering a uniquely transformative and personalized therapeutic experience.
